Stacy Barker is the Engagement Specialist for Detroit.  After serving over  22 years,  Stacy became one of the first women in the state of Michigan to ever have a mandatory life sentence totally vacated by the federal court. Having case law and her law being adopted in 4-states, one of her missions in life is to have it adopted in the other 46-states. During her incarceration, Stacy victoriously took on MDOC as a class rep or named plaintiff in 6-major class action lawsuits. Stacy won the Liberty Bell Award from the from the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan.

 

After graduating summa cum laude from Montcalm Community College Stacy graduated cum laude from Western Michigan University. Stacy then went onto implement a self help group and graduated over 600 women while manning the law library. Since her release 13 years ago, Stacy has been advocating on behalf of women who’ve been domestically/sexually abused and human trafficked. Stacy has volunteered with the Westland Youth Assistance Program for 13 years. Stacy is poised, thoughtful and engaging. She’s presently the CEO of her home health care company with 3-team members. She owns Boatsbnb and she’s a popular life coach known as ”Coach Stacy.
