James 'Jamo' Thomas
Director of Peer-Led Reentry
James ‘JaMo’ Thomas is Nation Outside’s Director of Peer-Led Reentry for the TIPLR Program. JaMo has been a part of Nation Outside since its early grassroots days as Detroit Regional Coordinator and has ample years of experience in the nonprofit sector. He has fed about 600 families throughout Detroit and Inkster, Michigan by way of his nonprofit Rising Sun Ink. JaMo is part of the Inkster Housing Commission and holds a seat as a Commissioner. He also campaigns to end life without parole for youth, end homelessness and poverty, and he is committed to helping youth and system-impacted citizens transition back into our community.
Patrice Fails, LLMSW
Director of Case Management
Patrice Fails is a Limited Licensed Social Worker in Michigan and a Health Care Policy Advocate. As a Criminal Justice Reformer her passions lie in Social Justice and Housing Equity.
Before joining Nation Outside, she gained professional experience as a Clinical Social Worker within the behavioral health system and Reentry Sector.
Aleena Hellebuyck
Director of Compliance
Aleena has obtained a Bachelors in Psychology from Central Michigan University, and is currently completing a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Aleena has extensive professional experience in trauma focused & rehabilitation based clinical roles including but not limited to: substance use counseling, juvenile drug court, & foster care case management
