Our Work
Trauma-Informed Peer-Led Reentry (TIPLR)
At Nation Outside, we believe in the power of lived experience to drive real change. Our flagship program, Trauma-Informed Peer-Led Reentry (TIPLR), is transforming reentry services in Michigan and beyond

What is TIPLR?
TIPLR connects justice-impacted individuals with trained peer navigators—mentors who have personally walked the reentry journey. Our peer navigators provide empathetic, trauma-informed support, bridging the gap between release and reintegration into the community.
TIPLR goes beyond traditional reentry models by offering:
-
Holistic support: Addressing barriers to housing, employment, healthcare, and community connections.
-
Transportation services: Ensuring reliable rides for critical appointments and interviews.
-
Weekly coaching and check-ins: Helping peers set and achieve personalized goals.
-
Virtual and in-person outreach: Reaching individuals where they are, whether inside or outside facilities.

Why It Matters
TIPLR isn’t just about providing services—it’s about creating a network of support led by people who truly understand the challenges of reentry. By centering lived experience, TIPLR restores dignity, builds trust, and opens doors to a brighter future.
