Kalamazoo Peer Navigator

Program Overview
GOAT (Getting Out And Thriving) is a community-driven initiative funded by the Stryker Johnston Foundation to strengthen the reentry support system in Kalamazoo County and expand economic opportunities for individuals returning from incarceration.
Nation Outside brings together individuals with lived experience, community organizations, employers, and service providers to improve access to resources, strengthen referral networks, and address barriers to successful reentry.
Through Nation Outside's Trauma-Informed Peer-Led Reentry (TIPLR) model, the program emphasizes lived experience, empathy, trust, and individualized support.
Position Overview
The Trauma-Informed Peer Navigator – GOAT will provide direct support to justice-impacted individuals returning to Kalamazoo County following incarceration. This position will help participants overcome barriers to employment, housing, transportation, identification, financial stability, and other essential resources through individualized reentry planning, peer mentorship, and community referrals.
In addition to supporting participants, the Peer Navigator will build community partnerships, identifying gaps in available services, document participant outcomes, and provide feedback to inform program development.
